Three Israeli soldiers were injured when their jeep hit a roadside bomb in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. One of the soldiers was in moderate condition, the other two sustained light wounds.
According to Haaretz, the blast occurred as the soldiers were on a patrol close to the Gaza Strip border.
Palestinian residents in the area said Israeli troops began firing machine guns after the explosion, and a military helicopter was seen landing in the vicinity.
On Monday, an Israeli soldier was moderately wounded by Palestinian sniper fire along the the border with Egypt.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz agreed Thursday to a proposed three-week delay in this summer's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, security officials said. According to <i>The AP</I>, Mofaz accepted the proposed delay during a meeting with top military and police officials, the officials said.
