Gaza Strip: Palestinian killed by Israeli fire, Hamas says situation ”alarming”

Israeli soldiers killed on Tuesday a Palestinian boy near Al-Toffah chekpoint in the Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, RNA reported. Palestinian medical sources reported that three other Palestinians were injured by Israeli fire.

Also on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, warned that the clashes between unemployed Palestinian workers and PA's riot police are alarming and urged all concerned parties to identify causes of the problem and to find "fair solutions" to defuse the tension.

The Movement, in a statement it issued over the incidents, affirmed that the "unfortunate clashes where scores were injured" were the natural result of the "abject poverty, deprivation, and discrimination conditions those workers were experiencing".

"The PA is fully responsible for its citizens, especially the workers, since it was the one who signed the Paris agreement and mortgaged the livelihood of the Palestinian workers in the hands of the Israeli occupation, paving the way before Tel Aviv to exploit the need of those workers and use it as means to recruit them and pass capitulatory solutions through them", it added.

"The PA has received huge amounts of funds, which were enough, if managed and invested well, to build a strong economy and meet the basic needs of those poor workers", it pointed out.

The Movement called on the PA's finance ministry, which increased the wages of the PA's security elements, to alleviate in the same way the "miserable conditions" of those oppressed workers.
