ALBAWABA - Construction vehicles were seen in the streets of the Gaza Strip as part of a campaign between the Gaza Municipality and the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza.
Construction vehicles were seen on Al-Shaaf Street in Eastern Gaza City to open closed roads due to the rubble after the end of the two-year war in the strip.
Gaza Municipality posted on X footage and wrote, "Gaza Municipality, in cooperation with the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Qatari Aid has launched a campaign to reopen closed streets and remove debris, enabling citizens to return to areas affected by the genocide war."
It added, "The initiative comes as part of the municipality’s broader efforts in collaboration with several partner institutions."
Nonetheless, the United Nations Development Programme announced on Tuesday that the estimated cost of rebuilding Gaza amounts to $70 billion, confirming the presence of more than 55 million tons of rubble in the Strip.
