ALBAWABA - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the military operations in Gaza would extend for "months" as the Israeli forces marked the 100th day of their attacks on the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu's declaration came as the Israeli government prepared to vote on budget adjustments related to the "war" in Gaza for the year 2024.

According to The Times of Israel, Netanyahu provided assessments of Israel's military presence in Gaza and the budget allocated for the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the necessity of managing the war, stating, "It is clear that we have to manage this war. It will continue for several more months. Therefore, today we are presenting the war budget."

Netanyahu highlighted that the proposed war budget includes significantly larger security expenses compared to the initial 2024 budget approved last year. Urging a swift approval process, he expressed readiness to stay in session until the budget change is completed, preferably by the end of the night.

The escalation began on October 7, 2023, initiated by Hamas's armed wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in response to continuous violations against Palestinians and sacred values, particularly Al-Aqsa Mosque. Israel reported 1,200 Israeli casualties and 5,132 injuries resulting from the October 7 attacks.
