The body of the late deputy chairman of the Arab Bank, Khaled Shouman, will arrive in Amman Tuesday afternoon and will be moved to Al Fayhaa Mosque in Shemeisani for funeral prayers before burial in the city of Petra, sources told Albawaba.com.

Shouman died at the age of 70 on Saturday after a long illness. The late deputy chairman dedicated his life to building the Arab Bank group into the largest such institution in the Middle East’s private sector.

Shouman was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1931 and returned to Jerusalem with his late father, Abdel Hamid Shouman, in 1933. He received his primary education at Saint George School in Jerusalem.

After the catastrophe of the loss of Palestine in 1948, Shouman went to Egypt, where he received training from his father, worked for two years at Midland Bank, and then pursued his education at Cambridge University - Albawaba.com
