The French Institute will host the renowned poet Mohammed Loakira on March 16 at 19.30. Emarrakech reports that Mohammed Loakira was born in 1945 in Marrakech and was the director of the Art Department of the Minister of Culture. Some of his important books are the Horizon and Clay (1971), Marrakech-poem (1975), Moments (1981) and Marrakech: the island of Mirage (1997).
“The poems of Mohamed Loakira are like an intersection of musical and visual elements. His poems are expressions of fragility and life and today Loakira is one of the most important names writing in French,” said Michel Favriaud from the Toulouse University.
