Four Killed, 37 Injured in Latest Violence in Algeria

Four people, including a policeman, were killed Friday and 37 others wounded in violent clashes in Algeria, said local reports. 

The daily Le Matin newspaper said that security forces killed three armed extremists and wounded two others during clashes in Burj Kaifan area in the north eastern suburb of the capital, said the official Kuwait news agency (KUNA).  

An anti-riot policeman was killed while three others were wounded in an ambush set up by extremists between in Dera Al Mezan town in Tizi Ozo district.  

Meanwhile, the daily El Khabar newspaper said that 23 people were injured, some of them seriously, in a blast that occurred in a bus stop in Al Aqwat area, some 400 kilometers south of the capital.  

The bomb was placed in the bus stop, where many servicemen frequently pass, said the paper, cited by the agency – Albawaba.com
