Following the failure of the summit between Israeli Premier Ariel Sharon and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Israel's Public Security Minister Gideon Ezra hinted on Wednesday that his country had resumed an assassination policy against members from the Islamic Jihad movement. Such an attempt took place about ten minutes after the opening of the Tuesday afternoon summit between Sharon and Abbas.
"Any means to neutralize the organisation are relevant and possible," Ezra said in a radio interview.
Meanwhile, PA Prime Minister, Ahmed Qurei disvalued on Tuesday the importance of the summit, emphasizing "We didn't reach issues suitable to our expectations."
Qurei added in the press conference that he held at PA Presidential Compound in Ramallah shortly after the summit: "None of the issues that were presented are suitable to our expectations or those of the people, what was presented was not serious if compared to the difficulty of this stage.. There was no satisfying outcomes".
