Finland's minister for external trade Kimmo Sasi is to visit Tunisia on Wednesday at the head of a delegation of Finnish businessmen studying market potential in Tunisia.

The delegation will spend two days in the Tunisian capital analyzing business and trade partnership opportunities between the two countries.

Representatives from leading industries -- telecommunications (Nokia), forestry and paper production (Stora Enso), solar energy (Naps Systems) and transport (Finnroad OY) -- will accompany Sasi on the visit, the minister said before leaving Helsinki.

The forestry sector, which represents 90 percent of Finland's exports to Tunisia, will be given special attention during the visit.

With bilateral trade figures in 2000 of $47.3 million, Tunisia is Finland's fifth most important trading partner in Africa -- TUNIS (AFP)
