Finland to buy Israel's David’s Sling air defense system

ALBAWABA - Finland has signed an agreement deal with Israel to purchase David’s Sling air defense system, Israel’s Defense Ministry announced on Sunday.

According to the Defense Ministry of Israel, the deal details that Finland with buy David’s Sling air defense system for 317 million euros (over $339 million).

The agreement took place at the ministry’s headquarters, according to The Time of Israel newspaper, which reaffirmed that the event was attended by Finland’s Ambassador to Israel Nina Nordström and Finnish Defense Attaché to Israel Col. Oula Asteljoki.

In addition, the "historic deal" was signed by Director General Eyal Zamir.

About David’s Sling:

David’s Sling, also formerly known as Magic Wand, is produced by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

David’s Sling defense system is capable of intercepting rockets and missiles at a range of 40-300 kilometres.
