The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has heightened security around its crude oil facilities and tankers transporting oil and gas, following the October 6th attack on a French tanker off Yemen's coast, local press reported Monday.
"We have implemented the right security measures around our oil, gas facilities for better protection after the recent attack", said Oil Minister Obeid bin Saif Al Nasiri.
The minister also said a hike in insurance rates on oil and gas tankers would be unreasonable. "It is unfair to raise insurance rates on tankers", he expressed. (Albawaba.com)
