ALBAWABA - Following a failed assassination attempt, the FBI announced identifying the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Pennsylvania.
Former president and current US election candidate Donald Trump had survived what the FBI called a "failed assassination attempt", as he was holding a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, as gunshots rang through the air with special law enforcement officers rushing to protect Trump.
The FBI said the shooting is being investigated as an assassination attempt. Secret Service agents killed the shooter at the event after he fired at the crowd from beyond the boundary.
During the incident, one person was killed and two were injured. Around 6 p.m. on Saturday, after Trump had been on stage for about 15 minutes in Butler, Pennsylvania, seven or eight gunshot sounds could be heard.
As his Secret Service detail surrounded him, the former president retreated behind a podium. Several agents lifted and took him from the stage, bleeding from his right ear and cheek.
