ALBAWABA - A teacher has lost their life, and two individuals have sustained severe injuries in a knife attack at the Gambetta high school in Arras, a city in northern France.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin expressed his concern about the attack and disclosed that the assailant has been apprehended. The suspected attacker is reportedly in his twenties.

According to sources, the victim who tragically lost their life was a teacher of the French language, while a sports teacher was also stabbed and is currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.

Authorities have declared that the situation is now under control, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, has announced plans to visit the school later today to offer his support and condolences.

The incident at the Gambetta high school in Arras occurred following recent events where French police forcefully dispersed a demonstration in support of Palestine in the city of Toulouse. This incident has raised concerns as it prevented a march in support of #Palestine while allowing pro-Israel demonstrations across French territory.

In the demonstration in Toulouse, French security forces employed tear gas to disperse a march advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people. These actions have ignited discussions about the handling of protests and the right to peaceful assembly in France, as well as the broader implications for the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.

In a gesture of solidarity with the victims, the National Assembly in Paris has suspended its session.
