The DOMUS GROUP, organizer of the Media and Marketing Show 2005, has appointed Fal Media Consultants (FalComm), as its sole agent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The show, to be held from November 7-9, 2005, will serve as a common platform for Middle East media to explore new investment options and business opportunities.
“The media industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered the best-established and mature in the Middle East region. It boasts largest television advertising revenues and is the main source of Pan-Arabia satellite advertisements. The KSA print media is also extremely active,” said David Domoney, Managing Director of THE DOMUS GROUP.
“Our decision to work with FalComm in KSA takes into account their in-depth knowledge of the Saudi markets. We look forward to drawing mileage from FalComm’s expertise in the field of media consulting and services to enhance the scope and appeal of the Media and Marketing Show,” he added.
FalComm offers a wide range of media and marketing communications related services such as media consulting, copy writing, media placement, specialised marketing surveys, subscription marketing, media positioning and public relations. The firm has a growing team of media industry specialists who offer their expert advice and suggestions to clients on various levels.
The media and advertising industry is growing at a rapid pace in the KSA, with Riyadh coming up to complement Jeddah as the advertisement hub of the kingdom. Most major firms now have offices in both cities, and advertising expenditure is on the rise with a 37.3 per cent increase registered in 2004, up US$ 186.11 from the US$ 498.93 figure for 2003. The growth trend remains strong in 2005, with advertising expenditure hitting the US$ 203.9 mark in the first quarter alone, up an astounding 67.88 per cent from the corresponding US$ 121.38 million in the first quarter of 2004.
Stephan Walsh, Exhibition Director, THE DOMUS GROUP, said, “The Saudi market has long been a driving force for media in the region. It caters to many large multi-nationals and is the regional hub for advertising. However, Saudi can not afford to sit back on its laurels as it is being challenged relentlessly for the number one spot by the booming media market in Dubai. The Saudi media needs to broaden scope and increase its reach to new markets by aggressive self-marketing and networking.”
“We are expecting a heavy Saudi presence in the Media and Marketing Show 2005. The show will bring the region’s key media players together to generate business and we expect the Saudi media to take full opportunity to market themselves and reach towards new markets” said Domoney. “The strategic importance of the KSA media industry has led us to appoint Mohammad Mukhtar Al Fal of Fal Comm as our representative to the Kingdom.”
“The Saudi media industry is renowned for its role in advertising and broadcasting,” said Mohmmad Mukhtar Al Fal, Director, FalComm. “The media in the industry is ready to progress to the next level of service, and that can only happen by developing better business links with regional clients, and harnessing the power of media to connect with geographically distant clients. The Media and Marketing Show provides excellent opportunity for Saudi firms to attract clients from outside the industry.”
The Media and Marketing Exhibition is being held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) as part of the International Media & Marketing Week. Among the major regional media players taking part in the exhibition will be MEPRA, Khaleej Times, Dubai Media City, Jacobsons and Saatchi and Saatchi, Fortune Promo Seven Group, BBC World, Gray Business Communications, ITP Consumer, Al Jazeerah Sports Channel, The Economist, Canon Middle East, Orient Planet PR, CDP, Dom International, Media Factory, The Concept Group, AME Info, Biz Events, Gulf Air, General Motors, Blue Ocean, Les Affichages Pikasso, Connector Publishing, DIT Publishing, Infinity TV, Al Jazeera Sports Channel and others.
