Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas ended his meeting that with representatives from the Palestinian factions in Gaza on Thursday afternoon.
Abbas arrived in Gaza Wednesday night in order to hold a series of talks with leaders of Palestinian factions, especially Hamas to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian territories. According to Palestinian sources, the factions said they would continue to respect the "calm" with Israel, but will also respond to any Israeli attacks. "Abu Mazen (Abbas) asserted in his meeting with the factions that everyone must abide by the calm," said Samir Mashharawi, a member of Abbas' Fatah party who participated in the meeting.
