An explosion of mines left from the Iraqi war left four people dead and one injured in the Iranian border region of Qasr-e-Shirin, a local municipality official said Monday.
According to IRNA, Nemat Nazparvardeh said that the fatalities were due to explosion of five mines which occurred in the past month. He said a 35-km stretch of this section of the Iran-Iraq border area is infested with mines.
