ALBAWABA - A man was killed after a bomb he was carrying denoted right outside the Brazilian Supreme Court Building ahead of the intergovernmental forum G20, triggering security concerns.

The explosions occurred five days before the G20 heads of state meeting in Rio de Janeiro, which will be followed by Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to the capital, Brasília.

On Wednesday night, a parking lot close to the court building was the scene of the first of two explosions. A second explosion occurred seconds later in front of the court, where the man's body was discovered.

The Plaza of the Three Powers, a famous area in Brasília that links the main structures of the country's three departments of government, was the site of the explosions.

According to preliminary reports, the man may have decided to kill himself with explosives after attempting to enter the Supreme Court, said Federal District Vice-Governor Celina Leao.

According to her, he possessed a vehicle in the area whose trunk was blown open by another explosion. Although she couldn't be certain, Leao stated that she hoped it was the crime of a "lone wolf".

To investigate the blasts, police dispatched a bomb squad with an explosive disposal robot to the square in the center of Brazil's city. The Supreme Court justices had just finished a plenary session when the explosives occurred, and they were immediately and securely evacuated, according to a court statement.
