adinat Jumeirah, the Arabian Resort of Dubai, celebrated the launch of the much-anticipated Zheng He’s Cookbook last evening, in a glittering event held at the multi-award winning restaurant.
The book, titled “Zheng He’s: A Culinary Journey”, is the culmination of a year-long project to capture the essence, flavour and unique spirit of the popular restaurant in a collection of signature recipes from the Resort’s Executive Chinese Chef, Leong Chee Yeng.
The glossy hardback, photographically illustrated by Nigel Brand, features 48 recipes ranging from the exotic to the sublime, as well as a chapter on the basics of Chinese cooking and insights into the legend who is the restaurant’s namesake, Chinese explorer Zheng He.
Madinat Jumeirah’s General Manager, Mr Robert Kunkler, said; “In line with Jumeirah’s on-going commitment to provide our valuable guests and visitors with first-class and innovative product offerings, we are delighted to be launching our first ever cookbook for Zheng He’s.
“From the very beginning, Zheng He’s has been synonymous with exquisite fine dining, offering guests the most outstanding Chinese cuisine with a radical twist that is modern, progressive and beyond compare.
“We are thrilled therefore, that consumers can now take the magic that is Zheng He’s into their own homes and share in some of the secrets that has made the restaurant such a success story,” Mr Kunkler said.
The book includes creative and unusual dishes with far-reaching appeal such as Orchid Shrimp Dumplings, Braised Eggplant with Soya Bean Chilli Sauce, Passion Fruit and Crushed Black Pepper Sorbet and Pepper Salt baked Eight Treasure Duck.
