The head of Europol, in charge of police coordination for the European Union, on Saturday criticized EU members for failing to share information on the fight against terrorism.

In an interview with the newspaper Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, Juergen Stoerbeck demanded that Europol member countries "simply provide us with what we need for our work: information."

He did not however identify the countries he felt had provided insufficient cooperation.

Stoerbeck also asked for more funds for its week, saying: "If Europol is to do more than simply analyze data, then it must be better equipped."

If member states want to set up a special commission on Islamic terrorism, "I of course need the appropriate resources," he added -- BERLIN (AFP)
