The Abu Dhabi Fertilizer Industries (Adfert) plans to open offices in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Sudan, reported the Gulf News, quoting officials as saying on Tuesday.
Adfert began exports in 1999, mainly to other GCC countries, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq and more recently to Turkey, Greece and Italy, said the paper.
"We are also targeting new markets such as Iran, Pakistan, Sudan and India," an official said.
Adfert has an office in Saudi Arabia and plans others in Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Sudan this year, he added.
Meanwhile, the company will start production of raw materials locally within four months at its new Dh20-million facility.
“Adfert will produce raw materials such as mono-ammonium phosphate, urea phosphate, mono-potassium and trace elements locally under its new project Adfert 2000 to eliminate imports,” Managing Director Sami Altawil said.
Adfert produces 60,000 tons per annum of water soluble fertilizers and 140,000 of granular compound fertilizers. The company also produces liquid and suspension fertilizers.
