EMC beat nine large content management software providers in the revenue growth sector in 2005, to reach the top slot.
EMC grew its content management software revenue more than four times the rate of the revenue leader and nearly double the rate of the overall content management software market.
Across the Middle East and North Africa region, the demand for a secure content management solution has seen an upward rise in recent months. Response received from the recently concluded Storage World Middle East conference revealed that capturing, managing and archiving the vast amount of digital content such as text documents, email, reports, images, audio/video files and transactional data featured high on the priority list for the enterprise sector.
“Market data indicate a 65 to 200 percent increase in unstructured content annually. This growth is largely uncontrolled and undermines a company's ability to achieve its business objectives. Content management software allows simultaneous publishing of a single content item via a website, e-mail, fax, print, and a handheld wireless device”, said Mohammed Amin, general manager for EMC Middle East.
Analysts predict that the market for research predict that enterprise content management (ECM) license software will exceed $3.9 billion in 2008, outpacing the overall software market with a forecasted 19% compound annual growth rate.
