Eight Egyptians and a Palestinian expelled from the US for illegal residence arrived on Tuesday at Cairo airport, escorted by five American policemen.
They told journalists they had found work and overstayed their entry visas until they were rounded up in the framework of the mass swoops targeting Arab nationals which followed the September 11 attacks and were held for several months without trial, according to AFP.
The nine were handed over for questioning to Egyptian security officers. The Palestinian, Alaa Fayez Musleh, aged 34, was later taken to the Rafah border post between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. (Albawaba.com)
