The eight edition of the Gnaoua World Music Festival is going to take place this year from June 23 to 26 in Essaouria. During this four-day festival, reports <i>Yabiladi</i>, internationally renowned musicians from all around the world, from the Far East and Africa to Europe and America, will come together to present a variety of musical traditions and modern styles of music such as Jazz and Rock & Roll.
Among the long list of artists that will take part in this event are the Egyptian pianist and composer Fathy Salama, considered to be the inventor of "jeel" (Arabic pop), the Swedish-Senegalese duo Elika (violin) and Solo (kora), the Indian percussionist from Singapore, Nantha Kumar, the bass player from Guadaloupe, Etienne Mbappי, the Franco-Congolese drummer Roger Biwandu, the French flautist Magik Malik, ex-member of Human Spirit, the renowned Armenian percussionist, Arto Tunחboyaciyan, and many other artists.
