Saturday is the last day of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated from tomorrow, announced the UAE. Similar announcements were made by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq.
Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE's Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Auqaf, published a statement last night indicating that that a thorough investigation and contacts with neighbouring states, the Moon-Sighting Committee concluded that the Shawwal moon had not been sighted.
