Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Egyptian counterpart Mohammed Hosni Mubarak on Tuesday reviewed the latest developments in the region, particularly in Iraq and the occupied Palestinian lands.
During a meeting held in Cairo the two leaders also reviewed the outcomes of the latest meeting of Foreign Ministers of Iraq’s neighbouring countries.
"The importance of extending aid to the Iraqi people to maintain Iraq’s territorial unity and sovereignty which affects positively the stability and security in the region was stressed," SANA reported.
Earlier, al-Assad arrived in Cairo for his short visit and was received at the Cairo International Airport by Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmad Nazief, Syrian Ambassador to Cairo and the embassy staff. (albawaba.com)
