Libya has dropped its plan to withdraw from the Arab League, Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak said in Tripoli Sunday at the end of a meeting with his Libyan counterpart Moamer Kadhafi.

"Libya has renounced its withdrawal from the League and this decision was obtained by my personally insisting on this with Mr. Kadhafi, who agrees," Mubarak told reporters.

Mubarak's discussions with Kadhafi were also expected to have dealt with post-war Iraq and Mid-East developments, Libyan officials said. Egyptian officials in Libya told AFP the two leaders also discussed the Sudan peace process as well as bilateral relations.
