The Egyptian police arrested author Salahadinne Mohsen at Cairo Airport on December 23rd while he was trying to leave for Turkey, The Middle East reported Saturday.

The 43-year-old, self-published writer was given a six-month suspended sentence in July for publishing anti-Islamic novels, the paper said.

Mohsen who has already completed his sentence, is still barred from leaving the country.

According to the paper, he was first arrested in March of last year for his writing, which described the Koran as the "holy book emanating from the ignorance of the Bedouins" -- Albawaba.com
