ALBAWABA - After over 200 days of war in Gaza which killed 34,488 Palestinians, an Egyptian member of the parliament has called the government to cut relations with Israel and expel the Israeli ambassador from Cairo.
A video of Mustafa Bakri inside a session in the Egyptian parliament has circulated on social media. During the meeting, the member of the Egyptian House of Representatives called on President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to halt relations with Israel.
Bakri angrily said: "The Egyptians are boiling with rage. We can't tolerate what's happening. We no longer care whether we live or die."
He maintained: "We are all prepared to become martyrs for the sake of Palestine and Egypt." "But when it comes to crisis management, freeze relations (with Israel)," Mustafa Bakri added.
He further noted that it is possible to summon the Israeli ambassador in Cairo and expel "this dog" outside Egypt. He also called for more "practical steps".
This comes amid criticism after some activists posted video clips of the inspection visit by the Egyptian president to the Egyptian Military Academy in the New Administrative Capital during which they projected pictures of the Israeli tank "Merkava", its specifications and features.
Activists highlighted the appearance of pictures of the Israeli tank "Merkava" during an educational session in front of new trainee officers during the Egyptian president's visit, which sparked interaction and speculation.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from the ongoing aggression has jumped to 34,488 Palestinians with 77,643 others injured since Oct. 7.
