The Jordanian-Egyptian joint committee will hold its meeting in Amman on May 27, reported Jordan’s official Petra news agency.
The meeting will be co-chaired by Prime Ministers of the two countries.
During the two-day meeting, the committee will discuss ways and means to further cement bilateral relations, said Petra.
Developing trade relations with Egypt will be discussed also to help remove obstacles impeding smooth inflow of goods between the two countries and reconsider the delayed tax-free list of the exchanged goods.
Jordan and Egypt have concluded a Free Trade Agreement under which customs fees have been reduced up to 55 percent for this year and the exchanged goods will be completely tax-free by the year 2005.
The agreement excluded eight commodities from this exemption, including, cars, clothes and textiles, alcohol, tomato paste, food salt, tobacco, concrete metal, and mineral water.
