Cairo’s Azbakiyyah court issued Saturday a ruling acquitting the head of the Egyptian Press Association, Ibrahim Nafe’, and the syndicate’s board members of charges of violating a previous verdict by the Administrative Court, in a case filed against them by a journalist, the daily Al Ahram reported.

The court, headed by Judge Sameh Shalabi, dismissed the criminal and civil cases filed by Fayez Abdel Meguid in which he alleged that the association had blocked the implementation of a verdict by the Administrative Court in his favor.

The verdict allegedly called for enrolling Abdel Meguid on the association’s members list although he had not submitted evidence of holding a high level of qualification, as required by the syndicate’s by-laws - Albawaba.com
