Dr. Madkour Thabet, chief of Censorship Department on Artistic Labels, has decided to hold a session to be attended by the Critic Committee members to see an American cartoon film called “South Park School.” This has come after the Viewing Committee at the Censorship Department rejected the film because it contains bitter sarcastic remarks about a number of leaders such as Hitler and his information minister Gobbles, Indian leader Ghandi, and the Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. The film also contains unacceptable remarks and statements that are offensive to the leaders.
The film, which discusses the vulgar language dissemination issue among the primary school children, tells about “a child who committed suicide and was sent to hell for his deed. The child meets these leaders in hell and makes sarcastic of them and even makes coalition with the devil against them.”
Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper said that the Viewing Committee reported that the film is clearly Zionism oriented despite that it is a cartoon film for children. The head of the committee, therefore, has presented it to the Critic Committee for its final decision on it.
An official source at the press censorship department said that the film that was intended to be screened during the forthcoming Sacrifice Feast holidays will be rejected--Albawaba.com
