An Egyptian army convoy was attacked Tuesday in the Sinai Peninsula, leaving 10 soldiers dead, Reuters reports. A roadside bomb killed two soldiers and others were shot while attempting to flee the scene, according to Reuters.

Militants in the Sinai regularly target Egyptian security officials. Attacks have increased since President Mohammad Morsi was overthrown and Abdel Fattah al-Sisi took his place.

The increased violence has spread to Cairo and hurt tourism, a long-time pillar of the economy.
