The Egyptian ambassador in Islamabad said in a statement to the Cairo Radio that Egypt and Pakistan agreed on the necessity of ending the current military campaign in Afghanistan as soon as possible and avoiding the imposition of any foreign formula on upcoming Afghani government, reports said.

Mahmoud Al Sa'eed, the Egyptian ambassador in Islamabad, told the local Radio that "Egypt and Pakistan have reached a clear agreement based on the principles in which both countries believe on the situation in Afghanistan."

Earlier, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher visited Islamabad to convey a verbal message from President Hosni Mubarak to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on the global situations in the wake of the international Anti-terror campaign and the US-led war in Afghanistan against Taliban’s militia, said the ArabicNews.com.

The talks of Maher and the Pakistani officials focused on the two sides' willingness to see quick stability and a broad-based government in Afghanistan.

Egypt voiced fear that divisions could take place among the Afghani factions if any country tries to force its political agenda on the formula of Afghanistan’s upcoming government – Albawaba.com
