Egypt Telecom plans to complete the installation of 256,000 new telephone lines nationwide in August, company chairman Akil Bashir announced on Wednesday.
According to the daily Al Ahram, Bashir said that his firm had already installed 124,000 new telephone lines in July, as part of efforts to erase a long waiting list by next year.
He added that after the new arrangements, the public would be able to finish a transaction with the phone company within a few days.
The Egypt Telecom chairman added that his company had responded to many applications during the last month, including telephone transfers, provision of services to subscribers, and linking new subscribers with an ISDN network.
