A top body at Egypt’s ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) has rejected an application for membership submitted by a former opposition member of Parliament, according to the Cairo-based Al Gomhuria newspaper.
The paper said that Mohammad Fareed Hassanein, a deputy for the Tokh constituency, applied to join the NDP as a working member after he was sacked from his former party, the opposition Al Wafd.
