The ‘Talk is No Longer Cheap – It’s Free’ campaign, launched two months ago, saw Efonica focusing solely on online media by tying up with a host of leading high-traffic web portals in the Arab world. The websites included ITP.com, Maktoob.com, Ameinfo.com, Bayt.com, Aljazeera.net, tayyar.org, alarabiya.net, msnarabia.com and zawya.com.
Ibrahim Choueiry, Efonica’s Regional Director for Asia and Africa, said that the purpose of the campaign was to further boost the company’s visibility and brand recognition in the Middle East and Africa regions.
“Online advertising has evolved as one of the most efficient and cost-effective tools to spread our message, especially when the service promoted is Internet Telephony. Internet users are known to be the early adopters of the new technologies and are always looking for new IT products and services,” Choueiry said.
He pointed out that online advertising provided greater advantages such as high return on investments, immediate results, measurable campaign performance and focused visibility. “We chose a mix of websites to cover Arab, Asian, and European internet users. The websites also targeted different groups such as IT, businesses, investments, and the common internet user,” added Choueiry.
Efonica partnered with NetAdvantage to design a media plan designed to reach different ethnic groups form the Middle East market. The company will build on the success of the online campaign by planning on similar online advertising efforts targeting the African continent, with focus on Morocco, Egypt and Tunisia.
