Southern Algeria was seized by an earthquake which recorded a moderate 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale on Saturday. The earthquake occurred in the isolated region of Médéa, according to the Algerian Center of Research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Geophysics.
The epicenter occurred at 9.42am GMT time about 15 kilometers to the north east of Médéa, according to the Center. Some minor damage was caused but its impact was limited. Because the region is relatively isolated, the earthquake was hardly reported.
