An earthquake hit western Turkey near the city of Izmir on the Aegean coast, the Turkish television news channel NTV reported early Sunday.
The quake was also felt further inland at Manisa and Aydin, although there was no immediate report of its strength, nor of casualties or the extent of the damage - ISTANBUL (AFP)
