e-TQM College, the pioneering Dubai-based electronic educational institution specializing in online programs, has announced the launch of an Arabisation and Publishing Center. The launch of the publishing centre is designed to address the lack of Total Quality Management (TQM) resources in the Middle East.
The move seeks to increase TQM awareness in the Arab World through knowledge dissemination, at the same time enabling learners to acquire internationally registered quality management publications in English and Arabic.
The e-TQM College Arabisation and Publishing Center has been active since early 2005, though it has been formally launched only now. To date, the Publishing House has brought out 7 textbooks and reference books on Total Quality Management, two of which are translations to Arabic.
“The launch of the Arabisation and Publishing Center is a major step forward in our continued efforts to provide valuable TQM-related information to the Arab society,” said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President, e-TQM College. “Promoting awareness of TQM principles has remained the core focus of e-TQM College, as we strongly believe a society conversant with TQM practices can positively shape the future of the Arab World. The Arabisation and Publishing Center will serve as a much-needed platform for scholars and experts to publish quality management textbooks and reference material.”
Dr. Najwa Dham, Dean of Academic Research and Director of Arabisation and Publishing, said, “The publishing center will bring out well-researched books authored by regional and international experts that dwell on a wide spectrum of topics pertaining to quality management and related fields. The books will bring to focus the importance of adopting TQM principles to achieve organizational excellence and professional development, with the support of case studies and examples. We are confident that these books will serve as an ideal managerial guide for researchers, professionals and students alike.”
The 7 books published by the Publishing House include “Best Practices: Organizational Excellence”, “Performance Excellence: A Practical Handbook”, “The 4 Ps of Organizational Excellence”, “Excellence Toolkit: Building Enabling Capability” and “Excellence Toolkit: Delivering Sustainable Performance”. The two Arabised books
are “Best Practices Excellence” by Prof. Mohammed Zairi and John Whymark, and more recently, “Organizational Self-Assessment” by Tito Conti.
The books published and translated by the college are designed to reflect state-of-the-art thinking and managerial principles, ensuring that readers pursue their quest for knowledge and advancement through well-documented processes and procedures.
The books, which are already available online, have been adopted by several UAE government departments and organizations including the Dubai Civil Aviation Department, Dubai Municipality and University of Sharjah. e-TQM College has announced that the books will also be available shortly in bookstores.
