e-TQM College, the pioneering Dubai-based provider of online courses in Total Quality Management, announced that its Arabisation and Publishing House has brought out 7 textbooks and reference books on Total Quality Management (TQM), two of which are translations to Arabic.
The move is to address the lack of TQM resources in the Middle East and to increase awareness of TQM in the Arab World through knowledge dissemination, while supporting learners’ acquisition of internationally registered publications in English and Arabic.
“Since its inception, the e-TQM College Arabisation and Publishing Center has been focused on supporting the quest for education and lifelong learning at all levels by disseminating TQM principles and best practices in the Arab World. The Publishing House acts as an ideal platform attracting English speaking and Arabic speaking scholars to publish quality management textbooks and reference material,” said Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Vice President, e-TQM College.
e-TQM College Arabisation and Publishing Center has already published seven books covering several aspects of Total Quality Management. These books include “Best Practices: Organizational Excellence”, “Performance Excellence: A Practical Handbook”, “The 4Ps of Organizational Excellence”, “Excellence Toolkit: Building Enabling Capability” and “Excellence Toolkit: Delivering Sustainable Performance”. Also, the Arabisation and Publishing Center has Arabised two books, “Best Practices Excellence” by Prof. Mohammed Zairi and John Whymark, and more recently, “Organizational Self Assessment” by Tito Conti.
Dr. Najwa Dham, Dean of Academic Research and Director of Arabisation and Publishing, said, “The new books published by the Arabisation and Publishing Center provide valuable information to scholars and readers on several important topics that hold the key to the region’s socio-economic development. The books highlight the importance of organizational excellence by elaborating on case studies and examples. We anticipate wide acceptance of the books, which serve as an ideal managerial guide for practitioners, researchers, and students alike.”
The books published and translated by the college are designed to reflect state-of-the-art thinking and managerial principles ensuring that readers pursue their quest for knowledge and advancement through well-documented processes and procedures. With a rich content that is well illustrated with examples of best practices, the internationally-recognized books aim at enhancing readers’ knowledge pertaining to quality, management and other related fields.
Already available online and adopted by several UAE government departments and organizations including the Dubai Civil Aviation Department, Dubai Municipality and University of Sharjah, the books are expected to gain wide acceptance amongst different companies and institutions in the region as well as among individuals. e-TQM College has announced that the books will also be available shortly in bookstores.
“It is a matter of pride to us to be the first establishment to venture into this kind of activity. The new textbooks will be used as course material by eTQM College as well as by other renowned universities. The process of publishing and Arabising these books comes in line with e-TQM College's mission to be the college of choice in the Arab world for TQM and related knowledge requirements and to enable individual development and growth in a virtual learning environment,” concluded Dr. Al Awar.
The Arabisation section of the Center translates articles about TQM, education and training, police strategies and management that are published by Emerald, the largest and most comprehensive collection of peer-reviewed management journals, which also offer online support to the e-TQM students, faculty, researchers and deans through its e-Library.
