More than 400,000 transactions were conducted online since the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department introduced the service some two years ago. The department's Director General said there was a steep increase in the number of users of the service following the launch of E-Government in October last year, reported Gulf News.
Col Saeed Mattar bin Bleilah told Gulf News that the department is now trying to encourage all companies to use only the online service, and gradually stop using the e-form or the common method. He explained. "This service helps them to carry out all transactions over the Internet."
A new center for electronic services, or Customer Relationship Center, is going to be set up at each section to promote electronic services for the public. However, in future there will also be direct electronic connection between all public sectors in the emirate and the department."
Dubai’s e-government is widely acknowledged as one of the most progressive examples of this modern system for providing government services to the public. (www.albawaba.com)
