Dubai Municipality has issued strict guidelines for tourists and leisure travel operators, reports Gulf News. These new guidelines cover trips taken to the desert, Dubai Creek or Gulf waters, the beaches and other protected areas. Offenders are warned they will be fined heavily.

Hussain Nasser Ahmed Lootah, Assistant Director General for Environment and Public Health, stated Dubai Creek is one of the most important tourist landmarks and it enjoys a unique geographical location that needs to be protected. He stressed that all kinds of fishing in the creek are banned.

"Any kind of vessel sailing in the creek must be fitted with a special tank for sewage water. Oil or garbage from vessels must be dumped at special stations available along the creek. Divers must not handle any marine creature," he said. (Albawaba.com)
