The Dubai World Trade Center is hosting an international summit on e-health services at which experts from the US, UK, Germany and Jordan will outline how the internet can revolutionize Middle East healthcare.
Presenters at the four-day conference will focus their keynote speeches on how IT can be introduced to serve people by reducing hospital waiting time, digitalizing patient records, all while centralizing patient care and the processing of medical claims over the net, said the Khaleej Times.
"The healthcare sector, like every other segment of society, is being rapidly impacted by technology and the vast potential of the internet is now integral to the strategic planning of health service providers, purchasers and suppliers," one of the organizers told the paper.
John Hassett, director of exhibitions at IIR Exhibitions was quoted by the Dubai-based paper as saying that “the summit will be a regional primer to shed new light on technology's potential to transform Middle East healthcare systems.”
Over 35 speakers from 10 countries throughout the US, Europe, the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent and Australia will address the Arab Health 2002 conference program, which runs alongside the exhibition Jan. 26-29.
Arab Health 2002 will be the first annual showcase of the region's major healthcare professional forum and will span five of the Dubai World Trade Center's halls.
Over 400 companies from 32 countries have contracted for the show, including 19 national, state and industry pavilions, the report said – Albawaba.com
