Dubai Municipality will start next month works in the second phase of the emirate’s bypass road, a report said.
The project, which costs Dh51.6 million, is the second stage of the bypass road connecting the Dubai-Al Ain Road to the Al Awir-Hatta Road at Al Rawiyya intersection near the Dubai Sports and Cultural Club.
The Dubai-based Khaleej Times quoted Qassim Sultan, Director-General of Dubai Municipality as saying that the project involved construction of a two-lane dual carriageway separated by a 15-meter wide median. The road will be provided with roadway signage, street lighting and storm drainage and irrigation systems in line with the advanced international standards.
According to the daily, the construction work is expected to begin next month and will take one year to complete. Sultan said that the Roads Department of the municipality was entrusted with completing the formalities for the award of the project – Albawaba.com
