The Dubai Autodrome has announced today its provisional calendar of international and national race events for the 2006/2007 season.
The Kick off of the International Motorsports events will be with the 10th and last round of the 2006 FIA GT Championship. The Dubai Autodrome will be organizing this event for the third consecutive year from November 16 to 18.
Following in December will be the fifth round of the A1 GP of Nations. The Dubai race fell at the half way point of the 2006/07 season; the last race before the December/January break. January will see again the 24-hour car race event in the Middle East, a race for production based saloon and sports cars promoted by Dutch organization, Creventic BV. The first edition of 24hDubai was an exciting and successful event where 67 race cars (Petrol & Diesel engines) from 11 different countries using 12 different car brands participated in the race. For the second edition more international teams from Japan, USA, Middle-East and China are participating.
The second National Racing Season will commence in September with a pre-season test day. The DAMC Championship will consist of eight rounds and will be held over a seven-month period.
Dubai Autodrome Motor Sport Club also plans a race series championship for the purpose built, single-seat race cars recently delivered to the Autodrome Race & Driving School and a series of races open to production based saloon and sports coupe cars generally, further details to be announced in due course.
