A merchandising revolution was staged in Dubai when leading wholesalers, importers and retailers gathered under one roof at the region’s first Stock Lots Exhibition to offer a vast collection of top brand goods at knock-down prices.
The first Dubai International Stock Lots Exhibition, held recently at Dubai Airport Expo Centre, involved more than 400 representatives of bulk buyers, distributors, discount chain stores, stock clearance wholesalers, independent chains, multiple retailers, wholesalers, discount retailers, distributors, and import-export companies.
The event, with an enormous variety of merchandise exhibited across1,400 sq. metres, marked the first international exhibition to be organised by World of Events, Dnata’s events marketing and management division, in partnership with exhibition company In Time Events and major brand distributors in Dubai.
The three-day event attracted more than 6,000 trade and public visitors to clearance price stock lots of thousands of surplus and end-of-line products from over 60 leading international brands such as Nike, Timberland, Samsung, Hitachi, Marantz, Hallmark, Better Life and Benetton.
The range of bargain products included consumer electronics, electrical equipment, flowers and decorative items, footwear and leather products, garments and accessories, gifts, handicrafts, household products, mobile and accessories, paints and varnishes, perfumes and cosmetics, sports wear, textiles, and watches and clocks.
Medhat Nassar, Manager World of Events, said: “Dubai Stock Lots is an innovative concept bringing together wholesalers, importers and retailers, as well as traders, manufacturers and the public. This was the first such event of its kind in the region and the response from all parties involved gives us great confidence for the future of Stock Lots.”
As part of a long-term business expansion strategy, World of Events has recently entered into representations and partnership agreements with industry leaders in the events business to facilitate staging world-class events across the GCC region.
