Newly-established DigiPrinz has acquired the HP Designjet 9000s for its entry into the UAE’s vibrant signage industry. The six-colour, 64-inch wide printer, purchased from Jacky’s Gulf, will be the mainstay of its operation in the initial phase.

“As a new company what we needed was a printer that would meet the demands of our clients with the speed required, and yet with no compromise on quality. Moreover, as a start-up, we were in need of a printer that would be suitable for both indoor and outdoor signage. The new printer not only benefits us in term of high-quality indoor output, but it has also been used for various outdoor jobs, including vehicle graphics,” said Lekshmanam Vijayan, Manager, DigiPrinz.

The HP Designjet 9000s, which made its regional debut at Sign & Graphic Imaging 2006, marks HP Large Format Division’s entry into the solvent printing market.  “The printer, the fastest in its class, has received a great deal of positive response from local printing companies, and we expect to finalise more deals in the next few months,” said Ashish Panjabi, Chief Operating Officer, Jacky’s Gulf FZE.

The company is one of only two HP DCP Signage partners authorized to sell the printers in the UAE, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain. According to Ernest Azzam, Product Manager, LFP, HP, the features of the HP Designjet 9000s make it ideally suited to the requirements of new businesses in this sector. “The crucial requirement for anyone in this business is quick turnaround on jobs, without any drop in quality, and, what’s more it’s adaptability to indoor and outdoor print requirements, means that the company is open to many more business opportunities,” he said.

Developed through HP’s partnership with Seiko Infotech, the HP Designjet 9000s has print speeds of up to 20 m2/h, thus enabling faster turnaround on print jobs. Among the other benefits of the HP Designjet 9000s is excellent outdoor durability, without lamination on low-cost, uncoated media, a high speed dryer that accelerates drying time – which also contributes to improved job turnaround time, and enabling long, unattended prints runs from improved productivity.
