Damascus Radio said on Monday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's program does not exceed the escalation of the Israeli aggressive war against the Palestinians and against realizing peace with the Arab people.
“(Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon's peaceful claims are in fact security and political dictations which aim to consecrate occupation and impose hegemony on Arab(s)”, the state-run radio asserted. It added that Sharon’s aggressive policy needed no evidence because he is practicing “daily bloody terrorism” against Palestinian civilians, the official Syrian Arab news agency reported.
“Sharon understands no language, but the language of war and destruction and he avoids the fact that reoccupation of the West Bank, arresting thousands and killing hundreds doesn't bring safety and security to the Israelis as he promised them”, the radio further indicated. Damascus radio urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and to curb the Israeli aggressive policy, and noted that Sharon would never achieve more than Netanyahu, Shamir and Peres, “who put security as the priority before peace.”
“Peace alone can bring security to the Israelis”, the radio concluded. (Albawaba.com)
