At least two mortar bombs struck a wealthy area of Damascus on Monday morning, in the same district as the hotel that the UN inspection team are staying in as they investigate claims of chemical weapons use in Syria.
An eyewitness told Reuters that one of the mortars fell in close proximity to the Four Seasons hotel, where the UN experts are staying.
Syrian state media reported that the mortar bombs had been manufactured locally and were launched into the capital by "terrorists", the term it uses to describe all those against Syrian President Bashar Assad.
SANA state news agency said three people were wounded, Reuters reported.
