The head of Preventive Security in the Gaza Strip Mohammed Dahlan told Palestine Radio on Thursday that there would not be any security cooperation with Israel, reported Haaretz newspaper.
In his remarks, Dahlan added that the Palestinians would not meet with their Israeli counterparts to renew security cooperation.
"If Israel was prepared to end the violence," he said, "then the Palestinians would be prepared to meet."
Dahlan said that the Intifada and the negotiations were separate issues, and that Israel's policy of assassinating Palestinian activists would not extinguish the uprising, according to Haaretz.
On Wednesday, Dahlan was quoted by AFP as saying that "the development of assassinations will not solve the problem, or give the Israelis security."
The Palestinian security forces, he said, were helping activists hide from Israeli forces, according to the Post.
Dahlan was reacting to statements by Israel's Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh who said that the Israeli army would continue to eliminate Palestinians accused of being behind attacks on Israelis, said the agency -- (Several Sources)
